Landfilling food scraps is a total waste - for our community, our soil, and our climate. And yet, up to half of what we send to the landfill is food & other organic material. Scraps members are helping change that.

Special Item Pick Up Information and Application
The City will reimburse each Edgewater account for the cost of two (2) items per calendar year, up to $27.50 per item. The two reimbursed items may be collected during a single pickup or across two pickups. Any additional items beyond the two reimbursed items will be charged to the resident's utility bill in accordance with Republic Services' pricing.
This service is offered on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month and is subject to a limited number of scheduled pickups on a first-come, first-served basis. To be added to the pickup list, applications must be submitted by the Wednesday prior to the scheduled pickup date.
This service is designed to assist Edgewater residents in the removal of various unsightly items in and around their homes. Please see the specifications and price guidelines below:

Branches and Yard Waste: Branches must be cut into 4-foot lengths and bundled in bundles no larger than 18 inches in diameter. All brush must be bundled and may not be left in loose piles. Leaves and other debris must be bagged. Loose or improperly prepared materials will not be collected.

Items for pick-up must be out by 7:00am.
- Please bag or bundle all materials.
- Do not pack bags or bundles more than fifty (50) pounds.
- Please cut all long pieces of material to lengths no longer than four (4) feet.
- Make sure items are from the below list of accepted items
- As items not accepted will be left. No Light Bulbs, Heaters, Air Conditioners, Concrete, Dirt, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Paints, Hazardous Waste, any Appliance with Freon, Lawn Mowers, Needles, Syringes, Tires, Batteries, Vehicle Fluids, Windshield Glass.
